I know that selecting a photographer for a Maternity Session can be a process. You are probably going through a whirlwind of emotions: excitedly Pinterest-ing dresses & theme ideas, nervous about wanting to look your best in the photos, all while anxiously preparing for the arrival of your bundle of joy. You want a photographer to not to only bring your vision to life, but at the same time, be as excited as you are that you are expecting. And I will be, girl! 'Cause I'm 'Extra' like that, LOL!
Maternity Clients usually come to me when they want dreamy, elegant photos that celebrate their beauty during pregnancy, all while creating unforgettable memories for their little family.
When talking with the pregnant women I photograph, I often hear how much they struggle to embrace their beautiful changing bodies and how different they look in the mirror. I believe that Maternity photography is about creating beautiful memories to show your child one day, but it is also about learning to love and appreciate your body during every phase and stage of your life.

Best Time to Photograph your Maternity Session
The goal of a maternity session is to capture the most pure essence of your pregnant form - the glow, the bond and the magic of a body that is able to grow and nourish a baby. This means we like to wait until the third trimester.
The tricky part about waiting is that most women find the third trimester a bit of a yin and yang. This yin is the first half (you still feel great, can move pretty comfortably and enjoy the ultimate sensations of your baby’s motions), while the yang shows up in the second-half when sleeping for long stretches is challenging and your body feels a bit uncomfortable.
By aiming for that window between weeks 32 and 36, we celebrate the contours of your body - during a time period when you’re still feeling really great and not worried about going into labor, but most importantly you can move comfortably and safely.
The majority of my maternity sessions take place in a beautiful outdoor location, or in studio. Your physical comfort and safety are my top priority.
As I mentioned that third trimester yin/yang relationship pregnant women experience. If your 36-week and onwards, belly feels too-big-for-your-comfort, you will have a hard time moving around and holding occasional poses with the same ease as you would have a few weeks prior. The typical maternity session takes about one full hour. And, since safety is always my priority, your solid footing is directly related to your ease of movement.
Special note: The best time to book your session is at the beginning of your second-trimester (14 weeks)!
the session & what’s included
To book your session, I require a $250 retainer to secure your session date & time, as well as reserve your Hair & Makeup artist. This retainer goes toward your chosen Collection. Once your payment is received, all you need to do is to sit back and relax and enjoy the experience! The rest of the payment is due the week before your session. If you'd like to add additional items to your collection, you can do so. It is awesome to see what people do with their images. Some choose Metal Art or Canvases to send out to family & some choose Matted Prints, others add on additional images. It is so beautiful to catch this moment and hold it for a lifetime and more.
